Hailing from the vibrant metal scene of Wroclaw, Poland, Truism embodies the pulse of modern groove metal fused with progressive elements. Led by Dzvon Cyndzer, arriving from the legendary Polish metal act Acid Drinkers, Truism presents a fresh, dynamic take on the genre. Joined by Maciej Morawski, Adam Hajdasz, and Slaver Wolowicz, this lineup breathes new life into modern metal.
Their debut EP, "Insanitarium," released in June 2023, offered a tantalizing glimpse into their future trajectory. Co-produced with Tue Madsen, renowned for collaborations with Meshuggah, Suicide Silence and many others, the EP set the stage for their full-blown debut.
Drawing inspiration from influential bands like Gojira, Tool, and Decapitated, Truism crafts a sonic experience that marries intensity with passion. Their sound, a fusion of raw power and intricate melodies, captivates audiences seeking the next step in extreme music.

In a world of chaos and uncertainty, “Photon” calls on listeners to delve deeper within themselves, seeking the inner strength symbolized by the titular particle. The band invites us on a sonic journey to the edge of the unknown, encouraging us to overcome personal limitations and discover our true selves on the other side, where light, unbound by the weight of gravity, sets each individual’s unique course.
Dzvon, the band’s leader, explains:
“Life is not just a collection of events. It’s a continuous struggle where pain and pressure are tools for growth. In what we do, instead of pursuing happiness, we strive to find happiness in the pursuit itself. That’s where the meaning of life lies. With this track, we aim to capture a piece of that philosophy and inspire others to take action themselves. And right now, the soil for that is exceptionally fertile. There’s no shortage of kids hungry to hear: ‘Keep your horns up! This will pass, and you’ll come out stronger.’ That’s the intent behind this song, and the upcoming material as well: to empower people in this tough journey, because we deeply believe that somewhere beyond the horizon, there’s dry land.”
The recording of "Photon" features musical contributions of the highest caliber. Zbigniew Krzywański, renowned guitarist from the legendary Polish band Republika, lends his talents to the track. His solo parts will undoubtedly evoke positive associations with the works of Fredrik Thordendal or Adrian Belew, adding yet another cosmic layer to the song.
But the band doesn’t solely rely on legends. During the recording session, they handed the mic to their fans. Everyone who wanted to participate had the opportunity to record their shout, which was then layered into the song’s chorus.
“It’s our tribute to the fans. The boundary between creator and listener is now illusory and overrated. We’re all made of the same stardust. So, if you want to roar with us, come aboard!” – the band’s leader explains.
Although the band hints at new full-length material, "Photon" is not a conventional promotional tool for an album but rather a release with a decidedly longer time horizon.
Dzvon elaborates:
“It’s no secret that the traditional LP release model is dying before our eyes. As a fully independent band, we’re free from any pressure except our own. That’s why, even though we’re overflowing with material, we’ve decided to release music on our terms, periodically unveiling new tracks. This approach allows us to remind people of our existence more consistently, unlike the traditional model that relegates an album to oblivion within weeks. It also gives us time to stir up some buzz around the band and potentially attract the interest of a label.”
For now, we can immerse ourselves in their latest track and patiently await the next steps from Truism. The wait won't be long, as the band is releasing their first LP before the end of 2025 and already has new material for another release piling up.
